1 Corinthians 15 -->2 Corinthians 5 - Suffering has a purpose!

Hello New Testament Readers!!!  ๐Ÿ“– Today was a "re-introduction" sort of day at CBR  We have had many new-comers to over the weeks, so I thought it would be good to take some time to reintroduce the (growing) steering team and small group leaders. In addition, I wanted to remind everyone that CBR is a "Bible Reading", which is different than a Bible Study.  Our group time is meant to be like a "book club" where we share what we got out of the reading.  God's word is powerful, alive and active! What an awesome opportunity to share with others what  God impressed on you, yet also use the time to seek clarification to what he says in His word.  Together we are "iron sharpening iron" (Prov. 27:17)  ⚔️ So, there is  no  "history" portion for today.   One of the new members of the speaking team is Judy Starr. ๐Ÿ’ซ  We are so blessed to add her to the rotation!   She did her talk on "suffering", (something we can all relate to) and

Hello New Testament Readers!! Here are the links from yesterdays CBR: The history portion gets into the Blood Mary. https://youtu.be/aMHS1r93Cuk Sharon focuses on the unique gifts God gives us.  https://youtu.be/eY-Qyi4IQBM Have fun reading 1 Corinthians 15- 2 Corinthians 5.  I look forward to seeing you next week, and in the meantime have fun celebrating the one's you love on Valentines this Sunday!!  ❤️๐Ÿ’›❤️๐Ÿ’›❤️ Anita

1 Corinthians 1->7- Rewards!

I have a confession. I love to ski! ๐ŸŽฟ And when a trip comes up, I get so carried away in planning and going, I forget other things!! That is my excuse  for completely forgetting  to send out the links to last Tuesday’s talk History portion was a Q/A time r/t "rewards": https://youtu.be/jYNX3MRwENk Michelle talked on division in the church and Paul emphasizing "Christ crucified" in his teaching. https://youtu.be/EGsDsqrH82s Have a wonderful rest of your week reading 1 Cor. 8-14! ๐ŸŒทAnita

Romans 10- 1Cor. 1-Interpreting scripture is affected by your “goggles”

Sorry this post is a little late!  This week, at CBR, was a Q/A time related to the reading we have done so far. But, since the questions that came in where pretty profound, only one question was addressed. Haha!!  Let me know what you think of the answer!!  https://youtu.be/kyVWnT36aSE Kim’s talk does a great job of explaining what “dying to self” means.  https://youtu.be/Mx7DP-mYebY Happy Reading!!

Romans 3-9- Faith is key!!

I talked a little about how the first chapter of Romans changed the life of Martin Luther, which in turn, changed many lives.  God's plan for us is powerful!!  All you need is faith in order to participate in that plan, as Sharon pointed out. Yet, with all the commentaries out there, understanding scripture can get complicated. I give an ever so brief explanation for two  different views on interpretation scripture and how those views can affect our interpretation. If you have anything to add, I would love to hear it in the comment section!  I hope you enjoy the videos.    History portion:  https://youtu.be/TR7WvqjrSZw Sharon's portion of faith:  https://youtu.be/N2jtj5vskXg I hope your reading is going well!   Have a great week!

Acts24 - Romans 2- A Little Jewish History for Ya!

 Hello New Testament Readers! We are booking along in our reading and are already in Romans!  Can you believe it?! Here is the link to the history portion of CBR. The other talk was an overview of the reading.  I am assuming you have done the reading, so you don't need the review.  If you watch the history video, and know the correct pronunciation of halakha , let me know!!! I would love to learn from you!!  Also, just FYI, we struggled technically with the Power Point, so please excuse those intruptions! History portion:  https://youtu.be/xH8kyXp2HzY
