Matthew 15-16~ Day 8~ Not just lip service!

"This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." (15:8)

How convicting is that?!  I know I have been guilty of that at times in my life!  It's easy to say, "Oh, what a beautiful sunset!  God is a master artist!" or "Wow! A baby!  What a miracle form God!"

But to live with God as the priority in my life always....that requires more than just talk!  I like how one fellow reader put it the other day, "The world is pulling us to live in it, and Jesus is pulling our hearts to him."  I commented back that I want Jesus to win that tug-a-war in my life!

I have found that the more I keep reading his Word regularly, the more I think about him.  This reading plan has helped me draw closer to Him and has even changed the worship time for me at church on Sundays.  I have a different mindset when I come to the "throne room" to sing my praises to him.

I pray that my heart will continue to draw near to Jesus and that I don't revert to just giving him lip service.  If I found what works, I better keep doing it!!.....I better keep reading!!😄

Revelation 21-22~ Day 120- It is done!

Even though John tried, the new heaven and the new earth are so incredible, they are hard to describe!!  His use of symbolism, to be honest, didn't give me a good visual picture to imagine, but it gave me some hard facts to rest on! The symbolism of the Holy City being a perfect square, obviously doesn't mean we will be living in a box for the rest of eternity, rather the focus is on the perfection!!  We, the bride, the Holy City, will be perfect !! Weekly Sunday Post for the New Reading Plan

Hello Fellow Blogger and Bible Reader, Are you up for some lighter reading than what we have done before on this blog? I am going to be reading the New Testament this school year,  starting today !!  Even though I will be going at a slow pace, I will still be done with the whole New Testament by June!!   I will be  reading ONE chapter a day !  How easy is that??   This is what I will be doing and I would love to have you join me!! Matthew 1-2~ Day 1~ God's perfect time.

Welcome to reading the New Testament in four months!  I am looking forward to new insights from my reading and hearing your thoughts on the reading!  So, let’s get started! Have you ever thought that Jesus is taking too long to return to earth to bring his people home?  I’ve thought that.  But, today’s reading was a good reminder for me that God has his perfect timing. God obviously doesn’t think that 1000’s of years was too long to take to fulfill his promise to Abraham.  I recently read Genesis so that promise is fresh in my mind, “Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him .” (Gen. 18:18)  This is a clear reference to the Messiah for whom the Jewish people were/are waiting.  So, when I read the first chapter, in today’s reading, the lineage of Jesus (1:1-17), It stood out to me that those names represent over 2000 years of Jewish history!  God’s promise of a Messiah was fulfilled 2000 years after he
