Day 85~ Only 5 days to go!

Revelation 4-6

I can’t help think about what we have learned already in our reading the N.T. about angels.
Remember Day 72 when we read the author of Hebrews describing Jesus as being greater than angels?  I made the comment that there is a “whole other world (realm), with rulers and authorities operating, yet it still has all to do with Jesus!”  (I got that idea from Ephesians 3:9)
Well, here we get another peek into the heavenly/angel world (realm) through John’s vision when he was “in the Spirit” (4:2).

There are a couple theories as to who the 24 elders are.  One says they can be “representative of the whole company of believers in heaven”. Another theory is that they are an exalted angelic order worshipping and serving God there.  It is more likely the latter of the two theories because of what we read in 5:10.  The elders, along with the creatures were singing, “You have made them to be a kingdom…and they will reign on earth.”  Because they sang “they” instead of “we” it is thought that these 24 did not include themselves, therefore they would not be believers like the 12 sons of Israel and the 12 disciples.


So, with that in mind, Chapter 4 is a scene of angelic beings worshiping the Lord.  WOW!  What a glorious scene that must have been!  Yet, again, it’s all about Jesus!! We get to read all about how worthy He is of all praise in chapter 5! 🙌😊

That's interesting about the 24 elders. I am left wondering why 24 elders if they are not part of the apostles or tribes.

1 Sam. 11-19

 Hello to all who are reading 1Samuel with me!! My intention has been to post something every Sunday  to keep those reminders being sent to you to keep reading.  However, what’s the saying?.... “Even the best of intentions mean nothing.  It’s  what you do.”😜 So, now it’s Wednesday and I now have the time to reflect back on last week’s reading. I must say, I think Saul represents the average Joe pretty well. 😳 He knew what God expected of him, yet he chose to do things his own way. Sadly, I can relate. How about you?  In chapter 13,  you might have wondered what Saul did that Samuel said was so foolish and would result in him losing the kingdom.  After all, it sounded good that he wanted to seek the “Lord’s favor”, didn’t it? Revelation 21-22~ Day 120- It is done!

Even though John tried, the new heaven and the new earth are so incredible, they are hard to describe!!  His use of symbolism, to be honest, didn't give me a good visual picture to imagine, but it gave me some hard facts to rest on! The symbolism of the Holy City being a perfect square, obviously doesn't mean we will be living in a box for the rest of eternity, rather the focus is on the perfection!!  We, the bride, the Holy City, will be perfect !! The jewels symbolizing "purity" and "durability", according to my footnote, will last forever.  That means we will last forever !  "The old order of things has passed away" (21:4b).  That one is mind blowing to me!!  All we understand of our world now, for example in science (cause and effect, gravity, permeability), will pass away. Life will have a new order!  I giggle thinking about how Jesus appeared in the room with the disciples when the doors were locked (John 20:19-20).  Heaven is going to
