Titus 2- Hebrews 4- Are you eager to do what is good?

Well, Titus 3 sure stood out to me this week! “Remind people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceful and considerate, and always to be gentle towards everyone.” (vs.1)

I have been reminding my adult kids often about being subject to the authorities. Obeying the new rules of social distancing and staying home has been hard on them!

Fortunately, for believers, the directives Paul gave to Titus, especially “to be self-controlled” (2:5, 2:6   & 2:12) is doable because we have the Holy Spirit to help us! I love Titus 2:11-14, “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself of people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.”

It does seem like that day, the appearing of our great God, is drawing closer than ever, doesn’t it?! So, are you eager to be doing what is good? I’m sure, if you are like me, you are eager to get out again, eager to do good for others.
If you have a list of what good you are eager to do when you get freedom to go out again, I would love to hear your ideas!!
