Luke 22-John 4- A Great Example on How to Share Jesus with Others

But! Holidays always throw me off! I wrote this yesterday but forgot to post! Happy Veterans Day!

This week of reading had a lot of great points to think on, but again, what I read today is fresh in my mind and worthy of comment.

Jesus says to the woman at the well regarding the Messiah, "I, the one speaking to you- I am he." (John 4:26). Then she goes back to her town and says, "Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did.  Coud this be the Messiah?" (John 4:29)

At first, I read those verses thinking, "How can she still be asking?  He told her straight out!  Did she not believe him? Did she need others to validate her feeling?  Did she value other's opinions so much that she couldn't make a decision on her own from the proof given?

But thinking completely flipped.  She did believe Jesus!  She was so excited to have others meet the Messiah, in her zeal, she left her jar!
I then started analyzing how she went about sharing the news.  She actually did it in a brilliant way!

What better way to get others interested in something than to share your own experience and then ask a poignant question to get them to think!! What a great template for us to use.

She shared her story- "..a man told me everything I ever did."
We can share what Jesus has done in our life.

She got them to think- "Could this be the Messiah?"
We can add questions to the end of our testimony. i.e. "Are you confident you will go to heaven when you die?"

It's amazing how quick this woman embraced truth and then turned to share this truth with others.  It doesn't take years of schooling or a theology degree.  It just takes sharing what Jesus has done in your own life.  What a good example for us and a great reminder!  (And it doesn't hurt to get people curious with a well-placed question at the end!)
