Revelation 4-5~ Day 112~ Again, one Kingdom!

I always tend to read Revelation like I'm watching a movie with flash back scenes, future scenes and lots of out of this world visual effects!
Chapters 4 and 5 are mind blowing, showing the awesomeness of  God's "throne room".  Flashes of lightening, rumblings and peals of thunder (vs 4:5), how incredible!!  This scene occurs after the work Christ did on the cross (5:6).  Because of that work, the celebration of the king is better than any event coordinator could have conceived!!

So, I'm in the middle of reading about this glorious scene, and notice something again, the same thing that stood out to me in yesterday's reading, "...you purchased people of God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation.  You made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth." (5:10)

There it is again!  One kingdom made up of all believers!  Not two special groups of people- just one big one.  I think Jesus, through John's writing is reminding Jewish believers, back in 95AD (when it was thought this was written) that the formerly exclusive elect, the Israelites, needed to have a paradigm shift as to who the elect Israelites were now that Jesus had come to the earth. "People from every tribe and language and people and nation".

As one theologian put it, "The church is actually considered to be true-end time Israel, composed of  believing Jews and gentiles" (Beale, A New Testament Biblical Theology).  I point this out, because in all the future reading you do, you can substitute "Christian Church" wherever you read "Israel", from now on.  That's why you may have noticed that I have often said, "I am a Jew" or "I am part of Israel".....because.....I am......and if you are a true believer....so are you!!  😇
