John 5-6~ Day 37~ What would Jews say today?

The other day someone commented on the blog, wondering what Jews now a days would think of Old Testament scriptures that, to us Christians, clearly reference Jesus.  It's funny, but I think God answered that question, himself, in today's reading!

"You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, and yet they testify about me." (John 5:39)
and Jesus really nailed them when he said, "For if you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me. But if you don't believe what he wrote, how will you believe my words?" (John 5:46-47)

Jews back then and now fail to see how scripture in the Old Testament point to Jesus, even when it is clear!  Nothing has changed!  Jesus goes so far as to say that they don't really even believe the words of Moses!!😱

I can't help but think of the following verse when I think how I have been grafted in as a true Jew who believes the words of Moses, the prophets and that Jesus is the Messiah:
"And do not presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham." (Matt. 3:9)
"For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him." (Rom. 10:12)

Believers in Christ are the true Jews ( and we are richly blessed because of it)!
