Acts 25-26~ Day 57~ It wasn't just Paul who was sent...

I love the words that Paul heard from Jesus and is now relaying to King Agrippa.  "I am sending you to them (Jews and Gentiles) to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me." (26:18)

There it is; the gospel in a nut shell!  Paul had a calling on his life to be "sent out" to Jews and Gentiles.  Yet, we have to remember, we have that same calling.  Jesus tells his disciples to "go and make disciples of all nations." (Matt. 28:19)  That doesn't just apply to the first 12.  How could it?  Jesus said all nations. Also, he says, "I am with you always, to the end of the age." (28:20) which goes a lot longer than just the lives of the first 12.

Some of you might be thinking at this point, "Wait a minute, evangelism is not my gift.  I'll let the Paul's of the world do that."  Well, hold on, let me give you a new thought.  Jesus says in Mat. 18:11, "For the Son of Man has come to save that which is lost." THAT was the point of his coming!!  Don't disciples emulate their teacher?  Of course they do! Therefore, one better emulate the main thing that Jesus came to do~ save others!

So, bottom line, the verse above that I said I love, applies to me and you as well! Jesus is sending us out to open eyes, "so that they may turn from darkness to light...receive forgiveness and a "share" of what we got!
Lord, help me proclaim you as boldly as Paul did!
