Revelation 12-13~ Day 116~ More of the "backstory"

"He was hurled to the earth and his angels with him." (12:9) Doesn't it seems that there is a lot of hurling or falling out of heaven.🤔
Remember, we just read about an angel falling from heaven with the key to the Abyss (9:1).  Or, maybe....we are reading different views of the same scene.  Maybe it's even the same scene Jesus refers to in Luke, "He replied, 'I saw Satan fall like lightening from heaven.  I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm you.' " (Luke 10:18)  That even sounds like Jesus is promising protection just as we read today how God was giving protection to the lady, "The women fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1, 260 days." (Rev. 12:6)
Humm... very interesting!! 🤓 Again, to me, it seems like the "backstory", building up to a glorious crescendo that we got a peak of in chapter 4.

Ok, now I have some interesting thoughts on ch. 13 as well.... at least I think they are interesting!!😛

I was always taught that the beast was the end-time Antichrist, one person, who will deceive the world.  But, reading today I noticed something...

First, there are two beasts one from the sea and one from land.  The Sea Beast has 10 horns and seven heads...very similar language to what Daniel describes in his Old Testament prophesy.  It's pretty common among Bible scholars to attribute those horns and heads to multiple groups of people led by tyrants opposed to God's people.
So, if John is using the same language as Daniel, than the beast John is describing can represent many antichrists, not just one powerful person, right?   That makes total sense in light of our New Testament reading!  Remember reading 1 John?
"Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now antichrists have come.  This is how we know it is the last hour." (1 John 2:18)  He also says, "Who is the liar?  It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ.  Such a person is the antichrist- denying the Father and the Son." (1 John 2:22)  The Sea Beast represents a bunch of antichrists, who together, are given power from Satan to "wage war against God's people, and to conquer them" That's exactly what has been going on since John wrote his letter, to now.  Don't you think? That beast, in the form of all people opposed to Christ, has been working all this time!!

So, following that train of thought,  why wouldn't the second beast also represent multiple people firmly against Christ?  Why do we switch it in our minds to being one person?  After all the Land Beast also has a couple of horns.

I'm going deep here....maybe deeper than you care to go....but I find all this fascinating and very encouraging!! I am reading the "back story" that is leading to that glorious scene in chapter 4.  This is getting exciting!!!
