Day 46~ Romans 13-15

What encouraging reading we had today!
I really liked 15:5, “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity…”

How does God give us endurance and encouragement?

Well, the verse just before that says, “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and encouragement of the Scripture we might have hope.” (vs. 4)

It is through reading Scripture that we get endurance, encouragement and hope.

Have you been getting those things since you started the 90-day reading plan?  I hope so!  If not,….keep reading!

Also, you get to receive what is listed in 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with the hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

How encouraging!!!  This is what we get all year long, not just from well wishes on Christmas cards in December!

Another way to be encouraged as Christians is to take what Paul said in 15:14 and apply it to you.  “…you yourselves are full of goodness, competent to instruct one another.”

This is who we are now!! (Not the wretched man described in ch. 7!)

Yea!!!

This verse really hit me today.
"For not one of us lives for himself and not one of us dies for himself, for if we live we live for the Lord or if we die we die for the Lord. Therefore whether we live or die we are the Lords" Romans 14:7
That's right! There is only one way to live.....for the Lord!
